Vinous Stephen Tanzer - 01 Mar 10
(racked in July) Deep, bright red. Superripe, complex nose melds berries, violet, damp earth and a whiff of balsamic vinegar. Wonderfully silky and suave on entry, then spicy and pure in the middle, with a very fresh black cherry flavor dominating underlying earth and floral notes. This spreads out impressively on the back end, with broad tannins saturating the palate.

Nuits-Saint-Georges

Nuits-Saint-Georges, a renowned appellation in Burgundy's Côte de Nuits, is famous for its robust, structured Pinot Noir wines with rich flavours of dark cherries, blackberries, and plums, along with earthy, spicy notes. Known for firm tannins and full-bodied character, these wines are ideal for ageing. Although lacking Grand Cru vineyards, Premier Cru sites like Les Saint-Georges and Les Vaucrains produce exceptional wines. Top producers include Domaine Henri Gouges, Domaine Faiveley, and Domaine Robert Chevillon, all celebrated for showcasing the unique terroir with traditional winemaking.
